It’s Official…Camaro is coming back!
Published by admin 2 years ago in New CamaroGeneral Motors Corp. officially announced Thursday morning at its tech center in Warren that it will be bringing the Chevrolet Camaro to market in early 2009. So those of you looking for an 07 Camaro, or an 08 Camaro will have to wait a couple of years apparently. The next Chevy Camaro looks like it is going to be an 09 Camaro.

why will it take so long for the car to come back? And how much will it cost to buy the new camaro.
The chevy sign should be made where the opening on the hood.it would look really nice there than between the head lights.
YES YES YES!!!!!!!
OH ya!!!
I will take mine orange with black rally striping. Reminds me of my “68″ back in high school.
sweet
Apparently it will be 2009 but of course will start rolling out in Q4 of 2008.
They will be making this in the Oshawa plant (ON, Canada), known for it’s quality control. Great move all around for GM, send me one in the mail

Gm is buiding the wrong Camaro. They should have based their design on either the green or orange designs by Kris Horton, preferably the green. See Poular Hotrodding Sept. 2003 issue.
Veloce
Does anybody know what the price range will be for the new Camaro?(in canadian dollars please)
Thanks

I looked at the Popular Hot Rodding issue you mentioned…GM made that green car (with a different front end)…they called it a Corvette. (For the record, I liked the Orange one better)
This new Camaro is very well done in the spirit of the ‘69, while at the same time, making it NEW!
If I had to gripe, I would ask that the rear end of the new concept be changed to reflect the ‘69 better…make the tail lights more rectangular in shape. The roundness of the design reminds me of the aforementioned Corvette, and the Colbalt (sp?). The Camaro needs to stand out from the rest of the Chevy line, and be totally unique.
That being said…I can live with it…and will! My order is already in with my dealer!
wow!!!! i can’t beleive i’m reading all these positive things about the new camaro. this car should be taken off the assembly line before its seen on the streets. it does not resemble a camaro or anything chevrolet ever made. this car is going to be the laughing stock of the car industry. ford and crysler guys are allready giggling, about this so called camaro. i know this because i work for a general motors dealership, and i also own a 1981 z-28 camaro. i’m a diehard camaro addict and i don’t like it when mustang and challenger fans say to me, hey, they just made a new camaro that looks like a family car. it looks ridiculous.
I guess they are laughing so hard they forgot how to spell and use capitol letters…I’ll see you on the freeway…I’ll be the one in the new Camaro blowing your doors off!
I guess the user name with the word viper tells you what kind of Camaro fan this guy is. He just doesn’t get it, funny how the hard core ford fans I know don’t make fun of the Camaro. Didn’t Dodge make a four door Charger now thats a family car to make fun of, the Camaro is a coupe that will probably be lighter then the Dodge challenger and definitely be lighter than the high performance Mustang (4000 lb. Shelby gt500). I guess we’ll just have look in the mirror to see them laughing.
There will always be someone that complains about something. I think GM did a great job cosmetically on the new camaro. Certain features reflect current design patterns they already use combined with some of the classic stylings from the sixties. A nice mesh. If you think that the car should look more like the sixties, then buy a sixties camaro. This is a modern camaro. No one complained about how dissimilar the last generation was from the sixties body stylings. I’m curious if anyone would say anything about it if it didn’t have any classic stylings. As far as I’m concerned, I think GM should forget about what fifty to sixty year old guys remember from forty years ago and build something totally modern and new from the ground up for the younger generations. Get these kids away from four banger lowriders and back into something with some real performance. I still say it looks good though and will be making my purchase as soon as they’re available.
As far as performance, I haven’t heard a word as far as what this car is capable of. I want to drive down the road and inspire awe in the hearts of not only four banger owners but make the dodge viper, corvette, and mustang owners crap their pants when a camaro is behind them. That’s what I want from a camaro. A car that makes everyone remember what a sports car really is, and it isn’t front wheel drive or sixty grand. Its a car that the average working man can own and enjoy. It should make you burst out of work to get on the highway. To find somewhere to go just to go. To take the path with hills and curves. To shut the challengers and complainers up with a little throttle at a stop light. To forget about how much gas costs. To turn heads and make the slower cars move from your path. Whats the point otherwise.

You know I totally agree with what Z had to say, cuz no matter what you do someone is ALWAYS gonna complain about something stupid. Just a segestion to the Viper50214, you best be changing your nickname. you dont come into a Camaro website saying that your a “diehard camaro addict” and then put “viper…” as your nickname!yea you own a “81 camaro…so do I. But whatever, I think that it is just stupid that you would even consider the new Camaro as a “family car”. And if it is…then i will be going to buy a “family car” as soon as it comes off the line! I just want to know why it is taking so long. But I sappos that i can wait.
P.S. Hey viper guy…change your nickname if you wanna get along with these boys and there toys!!!
One of the people posting critized the concept for looking too much like a family car. Before I go further, let me just say that I want a new Camaro!
Now, I believe that sales dropped on the fourth generation F-body because it wasn’t family friendly enough. I can say this because I’ve owned several Firebirds (and currently have a 78 T/A) and now drive an 04 Mustang GT. The Camaro and Firebirds easily outperformed their Ford counterparts, but the Mustang was/is an easier car to live with on a day-to-day basis (more seat room, an actual trunk, shorter doors that are easier to get through, etc.). This is something I hope the new Camaro rectifies and if so, I will certainly be one of the people lining up to buy one.
I cannot wait until 2009. I’ve been without a Camaro for 6 years now and I want the new one bad. It’s the best news I’ve heard from Chevrolet and I like the design of the concept car. It reminds me of the 1969 I owned. I want to be the first kid (at heart) on the block with the new Camaro.
I too am looking forward to this Camaro’s release. I’ve already contacted my local Chevy dealer about it. The 90’s body style sucked so I kept my 87 IROC until 2002. I miss driving one. I’ve heard GM is going to keep this car affordable. I can’t wait.
junk, ugly looking crap, ‘69 was the best year…end of story
yall need to bring the camaro back asap. The sooner it comes out the sooner i can have a new camaro. also it needs to be affordable.
