Here’s The 2010 Chevy Camaro That Took First At The Nevada Open Road Challenge
While most of the media was focused on the Buick Regal GS that placed second in the 135 mph class during this year’s Nevada Open Road Challenge, the first place finisher in the 110 mph Touring class somehow went unnoticed. Until now.
Those reading GM Authority may already be familiar with driver Jerad Voight and the Dark Horse Customs Chevy Camaro. As a reminder, the team ran the only modern Chevy in the challenging Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last year. And it was Voight, in the driver’s seat, and Ben Gardner as navigator, who piloted the 2010 Chevy Camaro — tuned by Dark Horse Horse Customs — to victory in Nevada last weekend, with an average speed of 109.9984, a speed variance of 0.0016, and a time variance of 0.0418. The performance, accomplished only with a stop watch and impressive team work, resulted in Voight taking first place in the 110 mph class receiving the event’s Rookie of the Year award.
