Chevy’s New Race-Ready Camaro Moves the Bar to a Whole New Level

It was 2002 and sadly the last year of the Chevrolet Camaro. Those were dark days and some postulated that it was the end of an era. But, Chevrolet promised that the Camaro would come back. Eight long years later that promise was fulfilled in the form of the ’10 Camaro. Just like the fourth-gens, the new generation of Camaro was anchored by a commuter-friendly V-6–powered version, but all we cared about was the thumping 6.2L LS3 under the hood of the SS. The power was decent, however with a curb weight hovering around 3,800 pounds, every pony was needed. The handling was a bit heavy, but we had our beloved Camaro back and all was good. Still, we wondered what the GM engineers could unleash if given the chance.

O.CT Tuning Camaro Steam Hammer

Here’s a European take on the Transformers Camaro, based on the Euro-spec version of the car. And while it might not look all that fancy, what O.CT Tuning has done to the engine is nothing short of brilliant. That’s the way things are; Americans are good at aesthetics, Europeans are better at engineering. O.CT has tuned this Camaro to 630 hp.

Camaro leads in sales, Challenger in growth for April 2012

Hot Rod Pilots Lingenfelter Chevy Camaro ZL1 To 202.67 MPH

It was the first 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to break the 11-second mark in the quarter mile. Now it’s the first 2012 Camaro ZL1 to crack 200 mph, 202.67 mph to be precise. It might have been touched up by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 by Redline Motorsports

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is considered the most powerful Camaro in the world, one that comes packed with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 580 horsepower. On its own, the Camaro ZL1 is already a pretty impressive piece of muscle.

But whereas some may be perfectly happy with its stock configuration, others still seek something more powerful.
