Chevrolet Camaro with navigation becomes a reality for 2013 thanks to MyLink

GM announced today that for 2013, the Chevrolet Camaro LT, SS and the ZL1 will be getting the brand’s MyLink infotainment system. The color touch radio, with a 7-inch touch screen, can be paired with an available in-dash GPS navigation system – a first for the Camaro.

Chevrolet’s MyLink system builds on the OnStar system and gives owners a higher level of in-vehicle wireless connectivity and customized infotainment  options including Pandora and Stitcher SmartRadio. MyLink also adds stereo audio streaming and wireless control of smartphones via Bluetooth, Sirius XM, AUX and USB inputs.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Production Updates

We know many of you are rabid for the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1, and some of you even have them on order, so were keeping you informed as production resumes and deliveries continue to reach their buyers.

Weve come across a dealer document through one of our loyal readers that gives us some updates on the ZL1s production status and options details. Perhaps most significant of the information in the document is the revelation that of the 1,100 remaining unfulfilled orders, just 500 of them will be built and delivered as 2012 models. The remaining 600 will be rolled over into 2013 model-year production, which wont start until after the end of April.

2013 Chevy Camaro Gets Updated Interior And New 1LE Package

To bring the fight to Ford’s latest 2013 Mustang range, Chevrolet has introduced a series of updates for its Camaro that will include the return of the storied 1LE track package.

Key among the updates, however, is a revamped interior, which includes Chevy’s latest MyLink connectivity feature and 7-inch touch-screen color display on LT, SS and ZL1 models.

The setup can also be paired with an available in-dash GPS navigation system–a first for the Camaro.

2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible: Up Close

As affordable convertibles go, the Camaro does pretty well.

The ZL1 convertible, however, is 1) no longer cheap and 2) based on the daddy of all Camaros. So execution will matter a lot more than with, say, the V-6 car. I suspect GM is up to the challenge.

Los Angeles Auto Show: 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible

Shown on Tuesday, Nov. 15: 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 convertible.

What is it? A tire-melting top dog for Chevrolet’s popular Camaro line, the open-air edition.

Is it real? Yes, it goes into production next year; a ZL1 coupe was previously announced and is scheduled to enter production in early 2012. Convertible sales follow late next year.

What they said: “The Camaro ZL1 convertible will be one of the most powerful and most capable convertibles available at any price,” said Al Oppenheiser, the car’s chief engineer, at a preview showing of the car on the eve of press previews for the Los Angeles auto show. “This car is guaranteed to put a smile on your face any time you drop the top or hit the gas.”
