Muscle car: It’s all about noisy, rebellious fun
Steve Abercrombie, a certified registered nurse anesthetist for the Great Falls Clinic, drives a garnet red 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28. This classic muscle car represented an era of rebellion, excitement and youth.
1969 was the last year Chevy built the Camaro in this style.
Abercrombie purchased the car in 1979 while he was stationed at a San Diego naval base. He bought it with the original engine and interior, and because it is from southern California, the car has no rust on the exterior.
“I was in high school when the car was made in 1969,” Abercrombie said. “This was a very simple car. It has no air-conditioning, no power-steering and in the summer is hot and always noisy. It was built to be a quick car. It’s nothing like the cars built today with all their safety features.”
