“The word COPO goes back to 1969 when a number of Chevrolet dealers were able to obtain 1969 Camaros with engines out of Corvettes. It went on to make the vehicle a very strong contender in the super stock world.
“The COPO Camaro was brought back in 2012 after the rebirth of the Camaro. These are factory built NHRA approved stock cars. The 2013 COPO Camaro will be the fastest car to come out of a Chevrolet factory.
It does not have a VIN number, it can not be titled, registered, or driven on public roads. For the purpose of decreasing the weight a minimalist approach was taken. By taking out the rear seats, sound deadening and extraneous interior panels and accessories, it is better suited for the drag strip.
