2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Production Hold Ends

A few weeks ago, we brought you news that GM had stopped production and shipments of the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 due to a potential software issue that the company wanted to assess and, if necessary, deal with, before delivering cars to customers. Today, we received an email from Chevrolet sent to ZL1 buyers announcing that the hold has been lifted.

The email tells customers whose cars had already been produced then placed on hold that their cars will arrive at dealerships within two to three weeks. For customers whose cars are still being built, production has resumed and estimated delivery times are being developed.

Paul Jr. Designs Teams Up With Trans American Muscle To Build Custom Camaros

Paul Teutul Jr. is taking a step from boutique motorcycles into the automotive customization realm with his company coming up with a special Chevy Camaro package.

Partnering with Trans American Muscle, Paul Jr. Designs is putting its own touch on the Camaro inside-out and everything in between. Inspired by WWII fighter planes, the sheetmetal is garnished with custom metal paneling and real aircraft rivets over matte black paint, while the factory shifter is replaced by one mimicking a joystick, complete with a red button at the top. We wonder if it fires missiles…

2013 Chevy Camaro Gets Updated Interior And New 1LE Package

To bring the fight to Ford’s latest 2013 Mustang range, Chevrolet has introduced a series of updates for its Camaro that will include the return of the storied 1LE track package.

Key among the updates, however, is a revamped interior, which includes Chevy’s latest MyLink connectivity feature and 7-inch touch-screen color display on LT, SS and ZL1 models.

The setup can also be paired with an available in-dash GPS navigation system–a first for the Camaro.

Video: Worlds Fastest Camaro Hits 253.1mph at Texas Mile

The 2012 Texas Mile run was an enormous success this year, which is evident in the number of records that were broken. We’ve already reported on the Hennessey Twin-Turbo Ford GT that now holds the new world record at the Texas Mile for standing mile, but it’s the Camaro’s turn to take its spot on the podium. A fourth generation Camaro has become the fastest standing mile Camaro in the world with an impressive top speed of 253.1 mph. It doesn’t beat out the Ford for fastest standing mile, but at least it broke the record for its own model.

Supercharger, Induction-System Tweaks Give Camaro ZL-1 Rarified Air

ALTON, VA – Engineers make both hardware and software tweaks to General Motors’ supercharged LSA 6.2L V-8 engine to wring out more horsepower and torque from the venerable small-block architecture for its application in the ’12 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1.

Compared with the LSA V-8 that powers the Cadillac CTS-V, the version in the Camaro ZL-1 makes an additional 24 hp for a peak SAE-rated 580 ponies at 6,000 rpm. Credit a larger Eaton-sourced supercharger, a designed-from-scratch induction system and an active exhaust system.
