As General Motors Co. opened contract negotiations with the United Auto Workers union this week, the Detroit automaker paid tribute to active U.S. troops and veterans.
During a ceremony to open labor talks Wednesday at the automaker’s Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant, GM and the UAW presented a joint donation of $25,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life.
