Ordinarily, Id hate to encourage a felony, especially in a city where car theft is almost a varsity sport. But Ive just learned that two frequently ignored 2011 Chevys are ready to roll, and Id love to see a habitual thief try to drive one away.
Theyre parked on metal ramps atop the center-field fountain at Comerica Park, and its a long way down.
Id assumed for a decade that the cast of vehicles on whats now the Chevrolet Fountain were empty shells, unburdened by engines and transmissions. Nope, says Chevrolet spokesman Tom Henderson; the yellow Camaro, red Cruze and their predecessors are full-fledged automobiles, ready for a close-up once the Detroit Tigers season is over.
